Weaver Trucking & Grading recently completed a pond backfilling and drainage improvement project, transforming an existing pond area while creating a more efficient path for water to flow through the property.
This project involved backfilling an existing pond, installing drainage infrastructure, and constructing a drainage ditch designed to help direct water through the property. With standing water, muddy ground, and varying elevations to work around, our crew put our equipment, experience, and expertise to work to reshape the landscape and improve the property’s overall drainage.

Using our heavy equipment, we began by tackling the existing pond, carefully moving, placing, and importing fill material throughout the area. Backfilling a pond requires much more than simply pushing dirt into an open space. It takes experienced operators, proper equipment, and careful attention to existing ground conditions to ensure the material is placed and graded appropriately.
An equally important part of this drainage project was establishing a drainage system to help manage water movement across the property. Our crew installed drainage pipe to provide a designated route for water to travel. To further protect the drainage area, we strategically placed riprap rock around the drainage pipe. This rock provides added stabilization and helps to reduce soil erosion caused by moving water, protecting the surrounding ground and supporting the long-term performance of the drainage installation.
